We've structured our research programs around a portfolio of research strengths:

  • Functional Materials: the engineering of semiconductor, magnetic, molecular and polymer structures, increasingly focussing on nanostructures;
  • Transport physics: turbulence, gas dynamics, aero acoustics, atmosferic physics, cooling technology and transport in permeable media;
  • Plasmas and radiation: plasma assisted processing of materials, radiation fields for particle acceleration, fusion.

Research in these focus areas is conducted by small and flexible research groups. These groups contibute to national joint 'research school' efforts.

The departmental 'werkplaats' and the TUeDACs data acquisition group support our research through their in-depth technical knowledge.
